Whether you are a large commercial publisher, a more specialised publisher, or self-publishing your own work, I can help. I am an experienced proofreader/editor and a member of SfEP and will edit your work to an excellent standard and to required deadlines at competitive rates.
Want to make sure you avoid embarrassing typos? I can edit/proofread any of the written material required by your business, such as commercial reports, tenders, brochures, pamphlets or advertising material, or your website. Whenever appropriate I will utilise your in-house style guides and formats.
If you are writing articles, books or research reports, I can edit them to journal or publisher standard, and also ensure that your references are correct and consistent. I have wide experience of editing academic work to high standards, working with authors both from the UK and across the world, and with solo-authored and multi-authored works.
Do you need help with editing your university PhD, or postgraduate or undergraduate dissertation? I can help you with any assignment, small or large, to get the grammar, spelling and punctuation right, and also read for sense and correct English, particularly if English is not your first language. My name is Stephen Murray and I am a qualified proofreader, based in Durham, North East England, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) (formerly the Society for Proofreaders and Editors (SfEP)).
I will carry out the following services with your documents:
- Proofreading – checking spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Editing – rephrasing text as necessary for clarification
- Reading - for correct sense, good English and consistency
My charges for proofreading and editing are calculated per hour. When you send me a copy (or a sample) of your work, I will give you an estimate of how long it will take and what the final price will be.
I will remain in contact with you throughout the editing process to resolve any queries that arise and to give you regular updates on progress.
I will keep to agreed deadlines and proofread to publication standard. The content of your work will remain strictly confidential.
